WITH FISHING FRIENDS IN COLORADO

Mike and Joe invited me to go with them on their fishing trip to Clear Creek Reservoir and Hayden Lake near Leadville this morning. It was a beautiful morning to be out. Here are a few of the sights from my view this morning.

VISITORS FROM MISSOURI

About 3:00 pm I got a call from our good friends, Gerald (Doug) and Carole Roberts, from Paris, MO. They had been on a trip to Albuquerque and on to see the Grand Canyon, returning by way of Buena Vista. They were near Salida, and only about thirty minutes away. We had been off work for an hour so the timing was perfect. We knew they would be here this weekend but were not sure just when.

The weather was a balmy 80 degrees so we sat outside and visited after their arrival, showed them around the park, made some introductions, and decided to go eat. Tonight was filet night at Quincy's Restaurant here in BV, so we all had a great meal.

Afterwards, we took a ride around town and then up to Cottonwood Pass. The temperature at 12,000 feet was 39 degrees and a light dusting of snow. Arriving back at our park about 8:00 pm the temperature was 68, jacket weather. Rather than build a fire. We opted to sit inside around the fireplace and visit.

As usual, I couldn't talk them into staying. They did get a room in town but will be heading east through Colorado Spings, and back toward Missouri early in the morning.

Thanks so much for coming this way friends. It was so good to see you.
