EVERY END IS A NEW BEGINNING

Today we worked our last shift at Snowy Peaks. We will leave for Missouri, Monday morning.

We worked hard but made a lot of new friends and really enjoyed the mountains. I don't know how many times Sharon said, "I don't know why we just can't get enough of these mountains."

After a visit to family and friends in Missouri, we will begin a new adventure at Valley Gateway RV Park in Edinburg, Texas for the winter.

Colorado Aspens

             Barbara and Denis

Barbara and Denis, friends from Trinity, Texas and the Alaska Trek arrived here this week and we have taken a few sightseeing rides together. The Aspens have really turned the last week. We have enjoyed getting to see big patches of yellow on the mountain sides.

Like other pictures we have taken, it is difficult to capture the vastness of the mountains and these golden areas.

This week we are expecting another couple from the AK trip to visit again. Fran and Bettie, from Loveland, CO are scheduled to arrive Friday.

Things are winding down here. We have only a couple more weeks. We plan to leave here September 30th. From now until then we will take in the beautiful scenery.

Buena Vista has been a great place to spend the summer. We have enjoyed the cool weather and the opportunity to host friends and meet many more great couples. The mountains have always been a favorite of ours. It is difficult to get enough of the awesome sights.

Thanks to our fellow workampers, to everyone who came to visit, and to owners Mike, Mark, and Cathy for giving us the opportunity to work at Snowy Peaks RV Park.

THANK YOU FAMILY AND FRIENDS

One more time, we want to thank all of our family members and friends who helped us celebrate fifty years together. Whether through words of kindness, cards, phone calls, texts, Facebook posts, or any other means.

In addition, thanks to Christa, Mike, Gary, Lee, Alicia, and Dale for the Tuesday evening Happy Hour/surprise celebration party. A number of guests around the park have also extended their thoughts and congrats. We appreciate it all.

We had a relaxing day, went out to eat, and enjoyed the beauty of the scenic area in which we find ourselves.

We have no real words of wisdom. Life just goes by so quickly. Fifty years is an "accomplishment" as many of you have expressed. But in many ways life is an endurance test. Hang on through the ups and downs, the highs and lows. As Robert Frost said, "I can sum up everything I've learned about life in three words--it goes on." Make the best of every situation and enjoy the journey. No one does it for you but they do it with you. And thanks to all of you for being there for us and with us on our journey.

WHEREVER YOU ARE IN YOUR LIFE AND TRAVELS , ENJOY  THE JOURNEY.
