RGV RETIREMENT ACTIVITIES

I did a blog with the same theme a year or so ago. Much of what we do is the same as then but we do find different things to do at different locations. What do we do in the Rio Grande Valley?

We do the same things you do, well, minus getting up and going to work. And some of us even do that.

We cook, bake, BBQ, fix meals, wash clothes, pay bills, balance the checkbook, grocery shop, help neighbors, wash the vehicles, walk the dog, vacuum, dust, clean bathrooms, mop, change the bed, do maintainance on vehicles, drive to new locations, Facebook, text, email, etc, etc. Any of this sound familiar?

Admittedly, our homes are smaller so less time is involved in many of these activities. Most of us realize, we are living the good life. We often talk about how lucky we are to have made it to this point in our lives. We have much more free time and the opportunity to choose what we will do today.

We hope that all of you make it and get to enjoy your retirement. It doesn't take much time to get adjusted to not working. Most of you will not choose to be fulltime RVers but we hope that whatever you choose to do with your "Golden Years," you will enjoy them as much as we are.

These pictures will show you some of the things we do when we aren't doing our chores.  Oh yes, some old guys take pictures and write Blogs.

A GREAT VISIT

What's a three hundred mile trip? Certainly no big deal if you aren't the one traveling. We appreciate Mike and Christa making the journey from Kerrville/Ingram to see us.

    Picking Oranges Behind Office
                     At Valley Gateway

We had a great visit. Picked oranges and grapefruit from trees in the park, had happy hour campfire with neighbors included, went out to eat, took a ride down on the Hwy 83 strip, and the women fixed some great meals. After all, we have to eat.

                Cocktails and Campfire
                    With Great Friends

Even though we didn't have much time together, it was lots of fun. Maybe we can do it again this spring. Meeting people and making new friends is one of the best parts of this lifestyle. Mike and Christa were one of the first couples we met in our first year of fulltiming. They will be lifelong friends as well as others we continue to meet.

Thanks again for making the trek. We hope the rest of the season at Johnson Creek goes well.
