The days are getting shorter, the humming birds are in a feeding frenzy in preparation for a long flight south, Kristen is a sophomore in college, Jordan is at St. Louis College of Pharmacy, "MY KARISSA" is a junior in high school, Justin & Quentin are sophomores in high school, Kolton in 6th grade, Ethan in 5th, Noah ? are you in 2nd grade??? and Aiden.........having fun with mom & dad while doing daycare. (My apologies if I didn't get it all right)
And Lon & Sharon; they are now "TEXANS"! The truck license plates arrived Saturday and are now on the truck. With a Texas address and Texas license plates, we surely, can call ourselves Texans. I guess we can call ourselves whatever we want and people can call us whatever they want! (I just found out Ralph Williams never did like me anyway.) We are using our Texas bank account so we are calling ourselves Texas residents workamping in MO until October 1st.
It is only 40 days now until we will be retired. It is exciting, however, it is also somewhat intimidating. Are we really prepared? Will we be satisfied on the road? Will we adjust to a smaller income?? Will we adjust to being with each other all the time? Will we miss family & friends? Will we like our new workamp job? Will we like Ingram, TX? What will we do if we are absolutely miserable and do not like it at all?? What will we do when we aren't able to travel and work any longer??
I'm sure some of you have wondered about these questions. Let me cover each very quickly. There is no way to know for sure without doing it. We have prepared as well as we can. We like living in the RV. It has been five months now and we adjusted with no problem. We have adjusted to smaller and larger incomes over and over. You live on what you have....don't see that as an issue either. Yes, WE WILL miss family and friends. However, with all of our technology, we will stay in touch. Maybe even better; Email, Facebook, Twitter, SKYPE, cell phone, texts, and of course LONSHARON BLOG!! The only job I've had that I just couldn't do was spot welding fan guards in a factory and I did that for three months so, I think we can do thirteen hours a week for a few months. If not, we hook up and move on! Texas Hill Country seems to be our kind of environment. We feel confident about the location. If we are absolutely miserable, I guess we can sell out and get us another home without wheels, on a foundation, and sit and rock in a chair on the front porch. That sounds like an exciting alternative. We are thinking of several options when it is time to kick off our boots and hang up the keys. We don't want to scare anyone with those options so will just keep them to ourselves for now but, we do think about it. Good Lord willing, that will be a while. If not, we have always done what we had to do and we will again.
Thanks to all of you who have supported and encouraged us. We hope that you will follow your hearts and live your lives to the fullest doing whatever it is you want to do. When it gets to the end, we don't want to have regrets about what we didn't get to do.
We are getting "Hitch Itch" and anxious to be "On The Road Again"! Happy Trails!
