CHANGING SEASONS

WENDELL and WAYNE

Much like other parks, there are a number of activities to participate in. We have been keeping busier this year. Sharon works in the park office two days a week and we go to town at least one day each week, Sunday is church and maybe a ride around some back roads to enjoy the scenery and wildlife, so after other activities required to maintain our lifestyle we only have a small portion of the week to fill.

I have been playing some Horseshoes, doing some morning coffees with the guys, we attended the monthly show at Cowboy Capital Opry in Bandera, occasional campfires and Happy Hours, we walk several times a day, and did our Concealed Handgun Class. Other activities we have not participated in include Bingo Night, Crafts, Cards, Cribbage, or Shuffleboard. Most weeks include some dinner or breakfast. We have an upcoming ice cream social and the manager wants to add a movie night. Maybe Sharon could get to attend her yearly movie, actually it has been several years since we have been to a theatre.

We often have someone in the park with a crisis or illness so there may be someone who needs help with something. Overall, we get along well with everyone. However, for some, it is a little like junior high. "Do you know what so and so did?" Bitch about this, moan about that. People and life are much the same wherever you go and whatever you do. Best not to get to close and too involved with anyone.....have lots of acquaintances instead of friends. Live and let live. Even at 70, some never seem to grow up.

More and more, we love this area, Hill Country of Texas. Everyone who has come to visit us here seems to like it. Several of our friends are planning to return next year for a few months. Lots of rednecks here and wide open spaces. We just don't think we are ready for the three, four, or nine hundred site campgrounds. We are meeting lots of people from different parts of the country and hearing lots of interesting stories. Everyone has their own history. Peoples lives are quite different and it is educational to hear the different personalities relate their experiences.

We will be leaving here in a little over two weeks and returning to Missouri to see family and friends.
After a short visit, we will be heading to Buena Vista, Colorado. We will work in Snowy Peaks RV Park with good friends we made our first year here, Christa and Mike. We are really looking forward to seeing you guys.

SNOWY PEAKS RV PARK

Christa and Mike

Our start date is April 10, if we can get there. Several friends and relatives have indicated an interest in visiting us there. If you are thinking about it, don't wait too long to make plans. The park there is filling up quickly for summer 2014. Likewise, the sites at Hill Country are filling rapidly for next winter. We have not decided for sure about next fall. We are comtemplating making a change but we like it here so well it is a tough decision. We think we would like to try Arizona and maybe farther south in Texas, near Edinburg. Why move when you like it? Then again, how do you know what you are missing if you stay the same place every year? Decisions, decisions.

April 01, we will have been fulltime RVers for three years. It doesn't seem possible. We have enjoyed it a lot so far and have no regrets about not having a "permanent" home or all that "stuff". We can see though, there is never going to be enough time to do all we want to do and see all we want to see. But for right now we are content and excited about the next adventure. Ready to get "On the road again".

WHEREVER YOU ARE IN YOUR LIFE AND TRAVELS, ENJOY THE JOURNEY!
