LODGE OF THE DEER SEASONS
Our current location is LODGE OF THE DEER SEASONS (LODS). Our hosts are Jim and Betsy Head, longtime friends........approaching forty years. LODS is near Salt River, east of LaPlata, MO and west of Novelty, MO. It is a bit remote and little traffic, other than the mailman, travels past in a days time. The area is mostly populated with wildlife including rabbits, deer, raccoons, fox, finches, Barn Swallows, Bluebirds, and Sparrows. Oh, I forgot about the ticks and chiggers. It' really a peaceful place for us to be until we get bored or bothered with "hitch itch" again. Yesterday was beautiful and the owners, volunteers, and workampers got several jobs completed. Then came Happy Hour and a fabulous dinner including smoked ribs, corn on the cob, and baked beans. Just awesome. With our bellies full, it's out to the campfire with friends and a cocktail to watch for wildlife before the rains came. And rain it did. Today, it's wet and cloudy. Much cooler and calmer, and a perfect afternoon for a nap. So, since it is and it's Father's Day, I'm getting horizontal. Later! Zzzzzzzzzzzz😴😴😴

We are so glad we have this place for Lon and Sharon to enjoy! Although totally unexpected they are quite the "work campers"!!
