rig performed well and it was fun to be "on the road again".
We spent five days with five other couples who completed the Alaska trek with us the summer of 2012. We made some great friends on that trip as well as experiencing the adventure of a lifetime.
Only a short drive from our reunion and we were in the heart of hill country. As we went through Johnson City, and west, past the LBJ ranch and through wine country (15 wineries on Hwy 290) toward Fredericksburg, we looked at each other and wondered why we ever left this scenic part of Texas.
Now being billed as the "#2 Wine Destination in America" only a few hours south of Dallas, several in the family might want to consider a visit.
We wish we were connoisseurs. The last week we have been entertained by Larry and Sherrill, friends we met at Hill Country RV Resort three years ago. Sherrill and Sharon both worked in the office there.
We have been talking, listening, contemplating, visualizing, and exploring an "exit" plan from traveling and workamping. Larry and Sherrill are putting a Tiny House, on their leased site at Rocky Point RV Resort. They are anxious for the, approximately 500 sq ft, structure to be delivered. We are excited for them and a little jealous. The residents at Rocky Point lease their sites for long terms and may park rv's, park models, tiny houses, sheds, car ports, etc on them. Every resident we visited with seems to love the park. We too, are definitely considering Rocky Point and hill country as a home base.
Tonight was the Medina Fire Department dinner, dance and fundraiser at the Farm Country RV Resort. We had a good time and got to see several friends from the area.
Tomorrow we will visit others we met in the last few years at Hill Country RV Resort and then Monday morning we are off to Valley Gateway RV Park, our home for the winter.
